About Us

Free Thumbnail Downloader is a small, independent website with free tools for YouTube creators — starting with a thumbnail downloader that shows the sizes YouTube actually provides, plus a thumbnail previewer, resizer, embed code and chapter generators and more. It is run by the Free Thumbnail Downloader Team.

Why we built it

Most thumbnail sites are slow, full of pop-ups, and advertise sizes like “1080p” or “4K” that don’t exist. We wanted tools that load instantly, are honest about what YouTube provides, and work just as well on a phone as on a laptop.

How we write our guides

• Every guide is based on things we have tested ourselves on real videos.
• We only state facts we can verify — for example, that YouTube’s largest thumbnail is 1280×720.
• When something changes on YouTube, we update the article and its “Updated” date.

Independence

This website is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC. We don’t host any thumbnails; the tools load them directly from YouTube’s public image server, and everything else runs in your browser.
